Not much has gone right for the Knicks since losing Kristaps Porzingis for the season with an ACL tear three weeks ago, but they’ll get the opportunity to show they can battle with the NBA’s best on Monday when they host the Golden State Warriors at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Warriors opened as 10.5-point road favorites and now are laying 11.5. The Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, has dipped from 231.5 to 230.
Two teams from opposing conferences and on completely different trajectories are clashing today, when the New York Knicks (24-37), who are on a free fall after losing their star player to injury, are hosting the defending champions Golden State Warriors (46-14), who have two straight victories and want to keep it that way.

Spread: New York Knicks +11.5
Knicks have a 24-37 record (29-32 against the spread) so far this season and currently sit on the 11th place of the East. They have lost nine of their last ten matches and in their last game they lost at home against the Celtics with a 112-121 score, not beating the odds. They are led in scoring by Kristaps Porzingis with 22.9 ppg, adding 6.7 rebounds but he will miss the rest of the season with an injury. He is followed by Tim Hardaway Jr with 16.9 ppg, while Enes Kanter adds 14.3 ppg and a team high 10.7 rebounds per game.
The Knicks went down 112-121 at home against Boston on Saturday, making it nine losses in their past ten games. New recruit Trey Burke came off the bench to score 26 points, but New York struggled to contain the Celtics at the defensive end of the floor. The loss sent their record to 24-37, which lodges them comfortably in 11th place in the east. Charlotte are three games ahead in tenth while Chicago are four games behind in 12th, meaning New York may well remain where they are for the rest of the season.
Golden State (46-14) have a little more to lose. They are trying to hunt down the Rockets for top spot in the west, though Houston are doing them very few favors. On Saturday, the Warriors finally managed to defeat the Thunder, downing them 112-80 behind a 60-35 second half. Kevin Durant scored 28 points in the win while Steph Curry added 21.
