Tony Bellew vs. David Haye

Date: Saturday, May 5

Start Time: Approx 10 p.m. BST, 5 p.m. ET

It’s been 14 months since David Haye and Tony Bellew clashed in their first heavyweight meeting at London’s O2 Arena.

On that occasion the Liverpool-born Bellew stopped Haye in the 11th round, but the former heavyweight champion had suffered an Achilles injury in the sixth, hampering his movement.

The pair meet for a rematch at the same venue on Saturday, and if it is anything like their first encounter it should be a superb spectacle.

The first bout between these two took place on 4th March 2017 and started as a stalemate until the sixth round, where Haye injured his ankle and fell down twice. Bellew then took control of the fight as Haye opted to continue.

Bellew knocked Haye down out of the ropes late in the eleventh round. Haye managed to make it to his feet, but his trainer Shane McGuigan threw in the towel, giving Bellew a TKO win.

The fight tomorrow (Saturday) is a rematch between Tony Bellew and David Haye, a year since Bellew defeated Haye in a memorable first encounter.

The original December date was postponed because of an injury to Haye, but the pair have rearranged for 2018.

All will depend on whether the fight night schedule is running on time, but expect the ring walk to begin before or around 10pm BST.

Tony Bellew vs David Haye 2 will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday 5th May. The main heavyweight event will not begin before 10pm but the busy undercard begins at 6pm.
