College football bowl games: Predictions, picks, odds, lines, schedule for Jan. 1

The year will be 2018 on Monday and with it comes the final full day of bowl games for what has been a tremendous college football season. Ten of the nation’s best teams will be in action throughout New Year’s Day with three terrific matchups in the early afternoon followed by the College Football Playoff in the evening

There are five college football bowl games slated for New Year’s Day 2018, and two of the games are the College Football Playoff semifinals.

This is the fourth season of the “New Year’s Six” bowl games, which includes the two semifinal games and the four top-tier bowls.

The AT&T Cotton Bowl was played on Friday, Dec. 29 and was followed by the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl and Capital One Orange Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 30.

The New Year’s Day bowl schedule kicks off at noon ET at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida with the Outback Bowl. It features the Michigan Wolverines vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The final non-playoff game of the New Year’s Six, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, kicks off 12:30pm ET. That game features the 12th-ranked UCF Knights against the 7th-ranked Auburn Tigers.

At 1:00pm ET, No. 14 Notre Dame takes on No. 17 LSU in the Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The College Football Betting Power Ratings indicate this line is right on the money.

This will be the third meeting between these two teams in the last three seasons.  Each has a win in the two-game series.

The winner will play the winner of the No. 2 Oklahoma-No. 3 Georgia semifinal for the national championship on Jan. 8 in Atlanta.
