The race is on Saturday, April 28th, racing through the streets of the French capital.Qualifying gets underway at 11am before the flag drops for the race at 3.03pm.

the city known for its gladiator battles, witnessed a new age street battle on 14th April 2018 between all-electric super cars. With some of the most determined driving in the championship’s history on display, it was a case of survival of the fittest as all 20 drivers fought for points and their place on the podium when the series kicked off its European campaign in the Italian City.

The battle was won by DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird, who emerged victorious after defeating the reigning champion Lucas di Grassi, who came second and Techeetah’s Andre Lotterer, who completed the podium with the third position. The race now heads to the city of the Eiffel Tower Paris – the capital of France.

Jean-Eric Vergne enters his home E-Prix 18 points clear of the field on 119, with Brit Sam Bird second on 101.

Sweden’s Felix Rosenqvist, whose two race victories match Vergne and Bird, sits far behind in third on 82 points, the victim of two retirements in the last three races.

The ABB FIA Formula E will return to the French capital for the third time, which also happens to be the headquarters of FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) which is the governing body of Formula E. The Paris E-Prix will be round eight of the current campaign, with Jean-Eric Vergne currently leading the standings for Techeetah.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2018

April 27- April 29

The fourth round of the 2018 Formula One season returns to the streets of Baku in Azerbaijan for a third time. The track is a mixture of super-tight corners – the narrowest part of the track is just over seven metres wide – and an incredibly long pit “straight”, which is even longer if you take into account the flat-out kinks into consideration. A safety car is very likely. Unlike the previous two editions of the race, this one is taking place in April, rather than June.

Baku City Circuit for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix comes slightly earlier in 2018 for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Contested in June each of its first two years, the event was moved to April for 2018.

Although the circuit was initially criticized for its close quarters, its mix of tight corners and high-speed sections has produced quite a lot of action.

Last year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix was particularly eventful. Sebastian Vettel intentionally hit Lewis Hamilton under a Safety Car after he thought Hamilton brake-checked him, and Vettel was given a 10-second stop and go penalty. Later, the headrest of Hamilton’s Mercedes AMG Petronas W08 came loose, forcing him to make a late pit stop.

2017 event might have been a victory for him if not for the aforementioned problems with Vettel and a loose headrest. Alas, he again finished fifth. It’s hard to believe that Hamilton does not have a victory through the first three races of 2018. Combine that with his desire to erase the bad memories of Baku from 2016 and 2017, and the Briton will be extra motivated to stand on the top step of the podium.

SCHEDULE Friday, April 27 Parking areas open at 7 a.m., with Fan Zone opening at 8 a.m.

Even though Ford saw its seven-race restrictor plate winning streak come to an end in the Daytona 500, a race in which Aric Almirola was half-a-lap away from victory, no manufacturer has dominated the restrictor-plate tracks of Daytona and Talladega in recent years more than Ford.

Over the past 29 races at Daytona and Talladega, Ford has won 16 of them, including the past five at the Alabama restrictor-plate track.

The Talladega race weekend is upon us and there are numerous activities planned ahead of Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series GEICO 500 race.

The “big” race of the weekend takes place on Sunday, April 29 at 1 p.m. Central Time, but there are other races and activities for fans all weekend long.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2018 Talladega race weekend if you’re heading out to the track:

Earlier this season at a similar track in Daytona, race-favorite Brad Keselowski won the unofficial opening race of the season “The Clash” followed by Ford teammates Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney and Kurt Busch.

Austin Dillon and Darrell “Bubba” Wallace, Jr. ended up going 1-2 for Chevy in the Great American Race but it was Blaney that led the most laps. The last time the Cup Series was in Alabama, Keselowski took the checkers and Logano and Blaney led the most laps.

Our pick to win Sunday goes against the Ford trend. While Denny Hamlin most recently won at Talladega in 2014, he is known as a restrictor-plate king. Hamlin has the second most laps led among active drivers at Talladega (291). Including non-points events, Hamlin has six wins in restrictor plate contests since 2014.

While IndyCar’s new body style has taken most of the headlines this season, there’s a lot under the skin that drivers are adapting to going into this weekend’s Phoenix Grand Prix.

The race is Saturday at 9:30 p.m. on NBCSN. Qualifying is Friday at 8 p.m., also on NBCSN. Live streaming is available at Sportsnet NOW. You can get live scoring and updates at IndyCar’s Race Control.

Open wheel has always been on the cutting edge of technology starting with the simple rear view mirror at the dawn of the sport down to the safer wall barriers that help protect drivers in the event of a crash. Now there is more.

This is the second race of the young season with drivers adjusting to LED data screens on their carbon fiber steering wheels. And, most noticeable to the fans, there are the graphic displays on the side body work allowing timing and scoring to show a variety of things, including each car’s speed.

A busy month of April for the Verizon IndyCar Series kicks off this weekend with the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino Phoenix Grand Prix (April 7, 9:00 p.m. ET, NBCSN) at the newly rechristened ISM Raceway (formerly known as Phoenix International Raceway).

What’s more, as the first oval race of the year, it will provide a glimpse into how the 2018 aero kit will perform on circuits that feature left turns exclusively.

Perhaps no track was more negatively impacted during the aero kit era than ISM Raceway, with the events from 2016 and 2017 featuring a lot of single-file racing as drivers struggled to get close enough to each other for overtaking to be a regular facet.

However, two days of pre-season testing at the one-mile oval gave way to optimism that the new 2018 universal aero kit would improve matters, with tire wear also becoming a factor as drivers practiced long runs over the two days of testing.

The desert can be a hostile environment. After the curtain-raiser in Melbourne, F1 heads to the Kingdom of Bahrain – home to wind-blown sands, high temperatures and twilight racing. With membership to the five-time world champion club up for grabs this season, the rivalry between Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton looks set to intensify under the dazzling floodlights.

Vettel has previous in Bahrain with three Sakhir wins to his name, a record he shares with Fernando Alonso. Ferrari, meanwhile, have five wins at the track so expectations in the Italian team’s camp will be high.

And for added motivation, nine of the previous 13 winners in Bahrain have gone on to lift the drivers’ championship – will race number 14 deliver the same outcome?

As a post-millennial addition to the calendar, it may not have the same kudos of, say, a Silverstone or a Monza, but there’s plenty for the fans to feast their eyes on.

Located 40 minutes south-west of the city’s capital Manama and built on an old camel farm, the mixture of technical corners and repeated acceleration zones means a rear-tyre blowout or an engine overheating is always a possibility.

As with most race weekends on the calendar now, spectators can look forward to a musical concert to add to the festivities. Who’s headlining this one? Latin guitar maestro Carlos Santana no less. Will it be a desert duel or an Arabian nightmare in Bahrain? Hard to say… but Black Magic Woman should sound immense in the moonlight.

With its 102-year history, The Ronde van Vlaanderen – the Tour of Flanders – is a monument of cycling. It’s arguably the biggest cycling event in Belgium and one of the hardest one-day races on the calendar period.

2018 Tour of Flanders

De Ronde, as it’s known in Flanders, always serves up some of the season’s best racing with its combination of explosive, cobbled hills, long distance (266.5km in 2018), and stacked field (as you’ll see below).

Of cycling’s five monuments, Tour of Flanders isn’t quite as unpredictable as Milano-Sanremo or Paris-Roubaix. The strongest man often wins. Yet, a healthy dose of luck and careful tactics are key to victory in Oudenaarde, Belgium this weekend. Here are 10 riders who will likely make the final selection and could very well go on to win.

After weeks of build-up, it’s finally here – the Tour of Flanders. There have been plenty of hotly contested Classics over the cobblestones of Belgium, but this is the one we’ve all been waiting for; the race that all of Flanders will come to a standstill to watch, and make or break a rider’s spring.

In the races leading up to the Ronde, no outstanding candidate has emerged. Unlike last year, when Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) and Philippe Gilbert (Quick-Step) went on scintillating runs prior to finishing second and first respectively at the Tour of Flanders, this spring the wins have been shared out between multiple different riders.

An estimated 400,000 people have flooded the City of St. Pete for fast Indy cars and greasy food. The city says more than $48 million comes to downtown bars and restaurants during the Firestone Grand Prix which runs through city streets downtown

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is the 15th Indy car race on the streets of St. Petersburg. Sebastien Bourdais, who makes his home in St. Petersburg, won the race last year. Paul Tracy won the inaugural race on Feb. 23, 2003, under CART sanction, while Bourdais started from the pole that year. The St. Petersburg Indy car race has been run every year since 2003 with the exception of 2004. No driver has competed in every St. Petersburg race, but Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan have started 13 straight races. Sebastien Bourdais and Ryan Hunter-Reay competed in the first race in 2003.

Josef Newgarden of Team Penske begins defense of his 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series championship at St. Petersburg. Newgarden captured his first series title in his first season with Team Penske, winning four times. Now he aims to be Team Penske’s first repeat champion since Gil de Ferran captured back-to-back CART championships in 2000 and 2001.

“I still have to pinch myself when I think about going to St. Pete as the Verizon IndyCar Series champion.” said Newgarden “Any driver that gets an opportunity, like the one I got with Team Penske, will tell you they expect to win right away. I certainly did as well, but I think we were all surprised at how quickly we gelled together and made it happen. But that is last year. The drive for the 2018 championship starts at St. Pete, and it’s a track where I’ve never won before. That is our only thought this weekend: going to Victory Lane.”

David Madera runs a bar and restaurant just feet from the racetrack, Madera says he’s felt the financial impact of the race first hand.

“It adds about 25-30 percent of what we would normally do,” Madera said. His staff prepares well in advance for the extra foot traffic, for one of their most successful weekends.Out of the $48 million spent, The City of St. Petersburg did a study, they estimate seeing around $4 million in tax revenue.

Equipped with the new Renault Z.E.17, drivers Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost face possibly their sternest test yet in their defence for the colours of the French squad.

The season debuts as per last season at one of the most exciting and spectacular tracks on the calendar. Cars will be racing on a 1,860km track located in Hong Kong’s Central Harbour front area, where the 10-turn narrow circuit with two tight hairpins should provide great overtaking opportunities.

Pre-season testing in Valencia proved to be particularly closely matched, on both pace and energy management, so the challenge to make it four-in-a-row Teams’ titles will be an exceptionally tall order.

After finishing its debut FE season last of the 10 teams in the championship, Jaguar predicted a significant step forward for the coming campaign.

Evans fired an early indicator of its progress with the second-fastest time in opening practice, albeit 0.466s off Sebastien Buemi’s pace in a session that featured few full-power efforts.

In FP2, Evans improved considerably as the chequered flag dropped in his I-type 2 to post a 1m02.875s – the only driver to dip below the 1m13s barrier.

Reigning FE champion Lucas di Grassi threatened to topple Evans immediately with a new fastest first sector, but backed off in the second sector.

Di Grassi’s Audi Sport Abt teammate Daniel Abt grabbed second at the last moment, dumping the Brazilian to third, with Oliver Turvey (NIO) and Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra) completing the top five within half a second of Evans.

FP1 pacesetter Buemi did not set a 200kW lap in the second session after locking up at the Turn 6 hairpin and hitting the wall.

The final Formula 1 race for the 2017 season will go down at Yas Marina Circuit, with Valtteri Bottas holding the pole position after qualifying. Here are the latest details on the race, including odds to win, start time, TV channel, and how to watch the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live streaming online.

Valtteri Bottas has pole position for the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday, and he’s got a lot to prove in the final race of the season. Even without a championship on the line, Bottas is trying to show he belongs alongside Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

Sunday’s race begins at 8 a.m. ET and will be broadcast by NBCSN in the United States. Live streaming can be had via the NBC Sports app on various connected smart devices and via the NBC Sports website in web browsers.

The championship is already settled, as Hamilton took the Drivers Championship while Mercedes won the Constructors Championship. Bottas, though, is trying to get a race win to close out the year. He qualified in first last time out in the Brazilian Grand Prix but allowed Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari to pass him almost immediately.
